Mufflers & Exhaust Systems
Most people only pay attention to the exhaust system when either it doesn’t pass the smog test or the noise gets too loud to put up with.
There are important safety reasons why it is important that we inspect your exhaust system regularly and the noise level is the least of them. The exhaust system has a lot of piping that carries what’s left over after the combustion in the engines cylinders to the muffler, to cut down the noise, and then on to the rear of the vehicle where it is exhausted into the atmosphere. If any of that piping is leaking, some of those fumes will linger under the chassis of the car and, especially when stopped with the engine idling, can seep into the passenger compartment. One of the major ingredients of those fumes is Carbon Monoxide, which when breathed will replace the red blood cells in the blood. If you feel woozy after driving for a while with the windows up, it could be the effect of fumes seeping into the passenger compartment.
Let us check the exhaust system. We will do it as part of our all points safety check and the inspection is our gift to you and your health.
